ABOUT US

We started with a simple question: why don’t cities understand what’s happening at their intersections?

Founded in Toronto. Built for cities that take safety seriously.

Our Story

Born in one of the most congested cities in the world.

Toronto moves millions of people every day. It’s also one of the most congested cities in North America — a city where intersections are under constant pressure and where the cost of getting safety wrong is measured in human lives.

We founded Canny Vision in Toronto because we believed cities deserved better than after‑the‑fact incident reports and incomplete traffic counts. We had the engineering expertise and computer vision know‑how to build something different — a system that could watch an intersection the way a trained traffic engineer would. Continuously. In real time. Without being physically present.

What we built is edge computing embedded in a camera that understands behavior — not just volume. A system that tells cities not only how many vehicles passed through an intersection, but what happened between them.

What Drives Us

We’re not building software. We’re building safer cities.

Every near‑miss event we detect is an accident that didn’t have to happen. Every congestion pattern we surface is time and emissions saved. Every turn movement analysis we deliver is an infrastructure decision made with evidence instead of assumptions.

We believe cities that have better data make better decisions. And better decisions at intersections save lives.
